![]() I can’t even fully articulate why I felt an almost immediate connection to him, but I think one of the things that struck me most about his character is how real he seemed. Right from the beginning of the story, I really liked Logan. ![]() ![]() One girl tries to befriend Logan but he’s afraid to open up to her and automatically shuts down whenever they’re together. The main bully’s father is the boy scout coach and when Logan joins his troop he soon makes it clear that he thinks Logan deserves being treated like shit just as much as the kids do. He starts trying to act ‘normal’ like his parents want him to and fit in with the classmates at his new school but word soon gets around what happened before his family moved and a group of boys his age start mercilessly tormenting him. ![]() The main character, Logan, is thirteen years old and just moved to a new area because of something traumatic that happened that turned a lot of the people in his community against him. I think that sense of suspense is part of what made the experience of reading this book meaningful for me. The author does a great job of keeping the reader wondering and building suspense right up until the book’s second half. The first thing I want to say about This is What I Did is, DO NOT go looking it up on the internet and get spoilers. ![]() Wow, this book really exceeded my expectations. ![]()
